I can never get enough of sunsets.  As much as I am a morning person at heart, I don’t think a sunrise can rival a sunset.   Sunsets always catch me off guard, I never anticipate their coming until I catch a glimpse of the burnt orange descending the horizon with their pink rays spreading across the sky … a last loving tuck of the covers from Mother Nature.
Coming out of the winery, I sighed with regret that we were turning East on our drive home.  The sunset would be in our rearview mirror, out of our view, there would be no savoring this sunset on our way home.  Without hesitation, Dan turned West into the sunset and drove a good 15 minutes out of our way so we could enjoy the last dipping of the sun as it gave way to the night – a perfect ending to a good day.  If anyone every asks me the secret to happy marriage, I would say, “Marry a man who chases the sunset”.
The End.
